PROPOSED PROJECTS

With the passage of the Central ISD 2024 Bond by voters, Central ISD would allocate these funds to be used for campus safety and security updates and additions/renovations to a number of aged facilities on the main campus.

The last new facility built on the main campus of Central ISD was the Special Services building in 2005 - nearly 20 years ago. Since then, there have not been major renovations made to the facilities included in the 2024 bond proposal.

Texas school districts do not receive state funding for renovating or building new schools. Instead, they must receive funds through school bond elections. Registered voters residing within the Central ISD boundaries will be asked to consider a bond proposition that would generate funding for safety and security updates, renovations and updates to existing facilities, grade realignment, and athletic facility renovations.

The proposed projects are listed below and include the year that the facility was opened:

  • Annex Building Renovation (1989)
  • High School Building Renovation (1981)
  • Update Multi-Purpose Building façade (1996)
  • 5th Grade Building Renovation (1985)
  • Special Services Addition (2005)
  • Band Hall Renovation (1964)
  • Cafeteria Renovation (1992)
  • Career/Tech Building Addition (1996)
  • HS Gym Renovations (1994)
  • Old Gym Renovations (1957)
  • New High School Classrooms
  • New Entrance Building for High School/Junior High
  • New 3-Lane Student Pick-up Driveway
  • Demolition Old Gym classroom wing
  • Demolition Maintenance & Receiving building
  • Grade realignment to create more space at Elementary campus
  • Convert existing Junior High building into new Intermediate campus (4th/5th Grade)
